Into the Woods
by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim
The Yale Commencement Musical is a whirlwind process, with only the time between the end of finals period and graduation to rehearse. Into the Woods struck me as the perfect show for a college graduation — it’s a timeless tale about growing up, getting lost, and striking out on your own. With a crew of one hundred and twenty students and a mile of rope, we pulled off a three-hour Sondheim musical in just ten days of rehearsal.
